Balasore: A man allegedly killed his wife in front of his family members and slept next to her body in a village in Odisha's Balasore district's Jaleswar area.
The terrible incident reportedly occurred late Monday night in Chalanti village, which is under the jurisdiction of the district's Jaleswar police station.
The accused, identified as Arjun Pandapat, was married to Lily and the couple had a minor daughter, according to sources. Lily was allegedly frequently harassed by her husband and in-laws.
Last night, the couple got into a heated argument about something. Arjun attacked his wife with a sharp weapon in front of his family members, killing her on the spot, in a fit of rage.
Arjun allegedly slept beside his wife's body after committing the heinous crime with no remorse. Their daughter, on the other hand, informed the neighbors about the incident she had witnessed.
After receiving information from the villagers, Jaleswar police officers rushed to the scene and arrested Arjun. The woman's body was sent for autopsy. An investigation is underway, and more information is awaited.
