Sundargarh: Police recovered the mutilated body of a missing female postmaster from a field near Lefripara block in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
Snigdha Pradhan, a postmaster in Telendihi, has been identified as the deceased. According to sources, her body bore multiple injuries, indicating that she died as a result of a brutal attack.
According to Snighdha's family members, she went missing on Monday evening after an argument with a male friend. Her parents filed a missing persons report with Lefripara police after she failed to return home at night. Her mangled body was discovered the next morning in a field in Kurumkel Belsariapada.
Though the exact cause of death has yet to be determined, it is suspected that she was stabbed and then stoned to death. According to the sources, the body was later disposed of in a nearby field.
A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway.
