Bhadrak: A man allegedly committed suicide after murdering his wife in a village in Odisha's Bhadrak district's Dhamnagar area.
The incident, which occurred late Monday night in Mulna Sahi village under the jurisdiction of Dhamnagar police station, was made public this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Bhaskar Samal and his wife Sasmita, who married around 16 years ago. They left two young sons behind.
According to sources, the couple got into a heated argument over unresolved family issues. As the argument heated up, Bhaskar allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked his wife, killing her on the spot.
Bhaskar then committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree outside the house. This morning, villagers discovered his body hanging. They also discovered Sasmita's body in a pool of blood inside the house.
After being notified, Dhamnagar police officers and a scientific team rushed to the scene and launched an investigation.
