Bhubaneswar: On Saturday night, unidentified armed miscreants allegedly robbed a man and set fire to his car near Pandua Sahi village in the Balipatna police limits, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the incident occurred as Ajit Kumar Swain of the neighborhood was driving home in his new car. He was stopped by two thugs, who then robbed him of his phone and purse at gunpoint. They then sprayed chemicals on his face, knocking him out, and dumped him near the canal on farmland. Before fleeing, the pair set fire to the car.
Locals discovered the victim in an unconscious state this morning. Swain has filed a complaint with the Balipatna police department regarding the incident.
