Jagatsinghpur: Tirtol BJD MLA Bijaya Shankar Das' rumoured girlfriend Somalika Dash allegedly received a phone call urging them to reach a "compromise" in their ongoing feud.
The caller can be heard in the audio recording asking Somalika if she was ready for any kind of settlement, and she responded by asking if he would have accepted a compromise if the victim had been his daughter.
Somalika stated to the media that she would file a police report in this matter.
This came two days after she met with Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra and urged him to raise the issue in the Odisha Assembly during the Budget Session because "despite evidence," no action had been taken against the lawmaker.
Somalika accused Bijaya Shankar of engaging in physical intimacy with her under the guise of marriage. She also claimed that he forced her to have two abortions.
Following an order from the Orissa High Court earlier this month, police filed a case against the MLA under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (punishment for rape), 313 (causing miscarriage without women's consent), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention).
