Balasore: On Saturday, a mother and son were electrocuted in the Bhograi area of Odisha's Balasore district.

Jayanti Sethy (57) and her son Kartik Sethy (35) of Bhograi were identified as the victims.

According to sources, Kartik was using a cutter to cut an iron rod attached to a poultry enclosure. However, the iron rod became charged with electricity when a wire connecting the coop came into contact with it.

As a result, the 35-year-old man was shocked. Jayanti rushed to save her son when she saw his condition. She was also electrocuted in the process.

The two were rushed to Jaleswarpur Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition, but doctors declared them both dead.
