According to sources, the incident occurred around 9.30 p.m. as he was walking home from class. The institute's staff rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police have launched an investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend the crane operator, who fled the scene after the accident.
