Boudh: A police ASI was critically injured last night when an Emergency Response Van collided with a truck while patrolling near the Manmunda petrol pump in Odisha's Boudh district.
Mamilata Samal, the injured cop, has been identified.
According to sources, the ASI and four others were in the vehicle when they were informed of an accident in the area. The ill-fated van rammed a stationary truck parked along the road on its way back. Samal was initially taken to the Manamunda health centre before being transferred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition worsened. The incident resulted in minor injuries to four other van occupants.
The incident is being investigated by Manamunda police.
