Two from Odisha receive National Florence Nightingale Awards
Sebati Sahoo and Manjulata Maharana from Odisha received National Florence Nightingale Awards for 2022 and 2023 respectively from President Droupadi Murmu at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Sebati Sahoo and Manjulata Maharana from Odisha received National Florence Nightingale Awards for 2022 and 2023 respectively from President Droupadi Murmu at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
Sebati Sahoo is a Nursing Officer with a P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) qualification who works at the District Headquarters Hospital in Nabarangpur. She handles critical cases effectively as an ICU nurse. She teaches Skilled Birth Attendant. She has helped to counsel Covid patients, families, and young nurses.
Manjulata Maharana has 19 years of experience as an ANM in Sahaspur Health Sub-Centre, District Puri, Odisha. She has saved many women during labor and delivery as well as in ambulances during floods.
The award was instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 1973 as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
