Angul: During separate raids in Odisha's Angul district, excise officials seized more than a quintal of ganja and arrested six people.
According to sources, the ganja was seized after excuse sleuths conducted special operations on Friday morning in the Jarpada Munda Sahi and Handapa areas.
On the basis of a tip, a team of excise officials busted a ganja smuggling ring in Jarpada Munda Sahi, which was distributing wedding invitation cards. Approximately 60 kg of ganja was seized during the operation.
Excise officials seized over 48 kg of ganja from the Handapa area in another operation.
Over 108 kg of ganja worth around Rs 10.80 lakh was seized from the two locations, and six people were arrested.
Aside from that, two cars were seized from the accused while they were being interrogated. More information is awaited.
