A 17-year-old boy from Jharpada in Odisha's capital went missing in the Puri canal near Ranga Bazaar Alarpur under the police jurisdiction of Balianta in the Khurda district.

Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old boy from Jharpada in Odisha's capital went missing in the Puri canal near Ranga Bazaar Alarpur under the police jurisdiction of Balianta in the Khurda district.
Six pupils, including two girls, arrived at the location on Tuesday afternoon (1 p.m. and 2 p.m.), according to reports. One of them was carried away while bathing in the canal. A boy attempted to save him by diving into the canal but failed.
When firefighters were informed, they initiated a search effort, which was renewed this morning, and the boy, identified as Jaydev Prasad, has yet to be found.
