Jajpur: Two people were critically injured on Saturday after jumping off a train at Dulakhapatna station in Odisha's Jajpur district's Korei block.

According to sources, the Palasa DMU passenger train was in route from Balasore to Bhubaneswar when it stopped at Dulakhapatna station.

Two passengers, identified as Batakrishna Sethi (35) and Mamuni Sahoo (18), were gravely hurt while the train was leaving the station after their legs slipped and they fell down while entering the train. They were taken to a local hospital for prompt medical attention.

Meanwhile, enraged citizens blocked the train and launched a protest, claiming frequent accidents due to rush hour and demanding that more coaches be added.

After receiving information, Railway Police Force (RPF) personnel and Panikoili police officers came at the station and attempted to appease the protesters.
