Agriculture Officer caught taking bribe in Bolangir

Balangir: On Tuesday, Vigilance officers are taking on the Rs 7,000 bribe, arrested District Agriculture Director (DAO).
The Vigilance devised a trap following an allegation by Himansu Sekhar Padhi that the Balangir DAO was seeking Rs 7000 as unlawful bribe for its fertiliser store providing Point of Sale (POS) system.
The plaintiff was to pay the requested bribe to the DAO, as per the arrangement. As Padhi accepted the money, he was blamed red-handed by the Vigilance sleighs.
In this context, Sambalpur Vigilance recorded and initiated searches simultaneously on Padhi properties at three locations in the districts of Balangir and Khurda. Further research is in way.
