Brown Sugar Worth Rs 1 Crore Seized In Bhadrak

Bhadrak: On Saturday, police seized brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore from an auto rickshaw on NH-16 near Dhamara bridge in Bhadrak district, and detained four people in connection with it.

Shaik Abdul Hamid (45) and Manoj Das of the Balasore district, as well as Kunilata Sharangi (30) and Ajay Kumar Sharangi (32) of the Bhadrak district, were named as the suspects.

The suspects are suspected of being part of a drug ring centred in Jaleswar, according to police.

According to sources, police stopped the auto-rickshaw after receiving a tip and seized the brown sugar as well as Rs 1 lakh in cash.
