Nuapada: On Monday in Odisha's Nuapada district, a motorcycle crash claimed the lives of four people, including a toddler.

Five people—three young men, a lady, and a child—were reportedly riding a bike from Komna to Nuapada town in the afternoon when it collided head-on with a truck travelling in the opposite direction on National Highway 353 close to Krishna Village.

The neighbours hurried the mom and the kid to the community health centre (CHC) at Komna while the three youths died there and then. The mom was in critical condition, according to the hospital's doctors, who also pronounced the infant brought to them dead. Later, as her condition worsened, she was sent to the district headquarters hospital in Nuapada.

Both the truck and the bike were moving quickly, according to the witnesses. Due to the NH becoming slick and the poor visibility caused by the recent heavy rain, the bike rider lost control.
