Another elephant cub found dead in Mayurbhanj jungle

Mayurbhanj: Tuesday saw the discovery of the carcass of a two-month-old elephant calf in Bangiriposhi, in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha's Nafri forest.
Some villagers reportedly saw the calf laying on the ground and alerted the forest officials once they saw it.
After being notified, DFO and other forest officials went to the scene and started an investigation to determine the precise reason for the death.
An elephant calf's body was discovered on Monday in Nota woodland, part of the Kaptipada forest area. According to the forest officials' suspicions, the calf's death may have resulted from a clash between two parties. The carcass was discovered with nearly half of it submerged in the mud.
