At least 50 students fall sick after eating mid-day meal in Odisha school
Bargarh: According to reports on Saturday, food served for the Midday Meal (MDM) at a government school in Odisha's Bargarh district caused symptoms of food poisoning in about 50 kids.
The event happened on Friday afternoon at the Brahmanadihi Project Upper Primary School in the district's Sohela region.
Sources claim that the school served the children rice, dal, and soybean chunks for MDM. Several kids reported experiencing nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain shortly after consuming the meal.
They added that the condition of certain students was described as serious and that the unwell students were taken immediately to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Sohela.
While the remainder of the pupils were released after receiving the requisite care, four students were kept under monitoring in the CHC. They said that the four students' conditions were now stabilised.
