Chargesheet Filed Against Archana Nag In Film Producer Akshay Parija Blackmail Case

Bhubaneswar: The police have filed a chargesheet against honey-trap kingpin Archana Nag in the Odisha capital, after she was arrested in October on a complaint made by director Akshay Parija accusing her of blackmailing him and demanding Rs 3 crore.
According to sources, a 501-page chargesheet was filed against Archana before the JMFC 3 court under Sections 384, 385, 388, 389, 500, 506, and 120-B of the IPC and Sections 66E, 67, and 67A of the I-T Act.
The Commissionerate Police has asked the court to leave the investigation open in order to collect further evidence in the blackmailing racket case, they stated.
After the investigation is completed, the Commissionerate Police will most likely submit a supplementary chargesheet.
It should be remembered that Parija filed a case with the Nayapalli police, stating that Archana and her husband Jagabandhu Chand blackmailed him with a film of intimate moments with a woman and wanted Rs 3 crore.
The Commissionerate Police detained Archana on October 6, but Jagabandhu was apprehended on October 21. The two were arrested and lodged in Bhubaneswar's Jharapada jail by the Enforcement Directorate, which is exploring the financial transactions in the scam. The central agency also questioned them.
The pair is accused of amassing over Rs 30 crore in four years by blackmailing high-profile individuals such as legislators, business owners, and filmmakers with sexually explicit movies. The ED has so far identified Rs 2.5 crore deposited in Archana and Jagabandhu's accounts between 2017 and 2022.
