Chhattisgarh's hardline Maoist Surrenders in Balangir

Balangir: On Sunday, a hardline Maoist from Chhattisgarh surrendered to authorities in this city. He is wanted in multiple criminal cases.

Deepak Kumar, DIG (northern range), told the media that the young Maoist, Aitu Korsa, from Mankelli village in Chhattisgarh, had joined the banned organisation when he was just 14 years old. Aitu began working in the Sunabeda division of the organisation in 2013, after being trained by the most wanted Maoist, Dinesh.

Aitu was a member of the Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) and Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasamund divisions' senior cadres.

He was involved in a number of criminal crimes, including the detonation of an IED, a firefight with security personnel, and the murder of civilians.

Aitu stated that he was disillusioned with the activities of Maoist leaders who were working for personal gain at the expense of the organization's values, and that he has opted to return to the mainstream of society in accordance with the Odisha government's stance.
