Kendrapada: From August 5, the Bhitarkanika National Park will reopen to visitors.

DFO Jagyandatta Pati of the Rajnagar Mangrove Forest and Wildlife Division stated the park will open to tourists with strict adherence to COVID-19 norms.

Tourists and residents would be able to wander around the area during the day, but there will be no overnight stays on park grounds, he added.

The park is closed from May 1 to July 31 every year due to the mating season of saltwater crocodiles, according to the DFO.
