Bhadrak: Children from Bagamara village and Gelatua Adivasi Colony in Bhadrak repaired a damaged road.

To level the road and fill the potholes, the children, usually elementary school pupils, carried gunny sacks packed with soil and gravel on their shoulders and bicycles.

The locals claimed that the poor state of the road caused them a lot of problems during the wet season. They claimed that their frequent requests for the district government to restore the road fell on deaf ears.

But now, the village's children have done the right thing, earning plaudits from all sectors.
