Christmas 2022: Odisha sand artist creates Santa Claus sculpture with 1500 kg tomatoes

Gopalpur: Sudarsan Pattnaik, a sand artist, chose Gopalpur, which is conducting a beach festival, to make a Santa Claus sculpture out of 1500 kg of tomatoes for Christmas.
Sudarsan wrote "Merry Christmas" on the 27-foot-high and 60-foot-wide sand sculpture.
Christmas is being celebrated throughout Odisha with special midnight masses, church visits, carol singing, and the exchange of greetings and presents.
For the past 17 years, the Padma awardee has been producing works of art on every Christman, with many of them making it into the Limca Book of World Records. In 2021, he used 5400 red roses and other flowers to create a 50-foot-long, 28-foot-wide sand sculpture of Santa Claus on Puri sea beach.
