Drunk man hacks wife to death with axe in Sundargarh

Sundergarh: On Tuesday night, a man allegedly axed his wife to death in Nabrangpur hamlet in Sundargarh district's Sadar police limits after returning home inebriated.
Niati, who had a squabble with her husband Raju Ekka the night before when he brought a married woman to their home, has been identified as the deceased. The situation was brought to the attention of the police station, where it was rectified.
Last night, though, the pair got into another fight. Raju attacked Niati with an axe in a fit of passion. Raju went to sleep soon after the incident. Their son alerted their neighbours, who contacted the authorities.
Raju has been held by the police, who have launched an investigation into the situation.
