Fake Currency Notes Worth Rs 2 Lakh Seized In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: On Friday evening, a team of the Special Task Force (STF) and members of the Dhenkanal district police discovered a racket dealing in fake Indian currency notes (FICN) near Rathapada village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station in Dhenkanal district and arrested one person named Tushar Kumar Biswal, 31, son of Purusottam Biswal of Kacherisahi village under the jurisdiction of Deogarh police station in Deogarh district.

During the search, the team discovered and seized bogus Indian currency notes for Rs 1,90,600, a mobile phone, and other incriminating items from the accused's possession.

In this regard, a case (Case No. 658 dated 17.12.2022 U/S 489-A/489-B/489-C/489-D/120(B) IPC) has been lodged at Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station. Further investigation is underway to apprehend other members of the ring.
