Sambalpur: Late on Wednesday night, four freight train bogies derailed close to Sarla yard in the Sambalpur district of Odisha.

The cement-loaded train was reportedly travelling from Jharsuguda when the bogies derailed.

Line construction is now being done between the stations on the Titilagarh-Singapur road portion (under the Sambalpur division) together with the stations on the Cuttack-Jakhapura road segment (under the Khurda Road Division) between Rupra Road, Norla Road, and Lanjigarh Road.

However, the reason for the derailment has not yet been identified. Pradeep Kumar, the Sambalpur Divisional Railway Manager, told the reporters, "The incident's cause would be probed.

Today's Jharsuguda-Sambalpur train and the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Express have been cancelled. The Puri-Indore Express will also travel via Sambalpur. Sambalpur station was the starting point for the Rourkela-Gunpur Express and the Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar Express.

It is important to note that on Sunday, four bogies of a cargo train derailed close to the third line's Dharuadihi station and rolled over in the Sundargarh district.
