ITI College Principal, Lecturer Held Over Assault On Students

Baripada: Police detained the principal and a lecturer of a private ITI college in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Wednesday after some students claimed the former's brother had assaulted them for making an error in filling out the application. The college is under the jurisdiction of Kuliana police.

The action was done as a result of a complaint made by the kids at the Kuliana police station against the principal and his younger brother. In the early hours, the children also walked miles to the district collector's office to inform him of the occurrence.

But since the incident, the principal's younger brother has been missing.

Sources claim that before their exams, students in the electrical and fitter trades received incorrect admit cards. The incident was reported by the students to the college administration. The authorities instructed them to show up for the exam using the incorrect entrance cards rather than finding a solution to the problem.

A demonstration was organised in front of the college by some students who were upset by this. The agitated kids are said to have been assaulted by Principal Trilochan Barik's younger brother, who went to the scene. Additionally, it was reportedly requested that the students leave the dorm.
