Jeypore’s last queen Rajmata Rama Kumari Devi passes away

Jeypore: Rama Kumari Devi, the last queen of Odisha's Jeypore royal line, died late Sunday night. She was 90 years old.
Ramak Kumari, who had been ill for some time, died in the Moti Mahal mansion in Jeypore, Koraput district. Her son Chandrachud Deo and her youngest daughter-in-law Sarika Devi were present when she died.
Rama Kumari was the wife of the family's last king, Ramakrishna Deo, who was Maharaj Bikram Dev's adoptive son. Ramakrishna succeeded Bikram Dev as king. Rama Kumari was also a member of the Madgul Legislative Assembly in former Andhra Pradesh.
On Monday morning, several famous people from various walks of life visited the palace and expressed their sympathies to the sad family. According to family sources, her final rituals would be done on Monday at the royal family's Chandanbadi cremation yard in town.
