Koraput: A consensus candidate has filed candidacy papers for the Zilla Parishad member slot in the district's Kotia panchayat election, as agreed by three main parties before.

It was also decided that any candidate chosen for a position would quit from their current political party. Furthermore, all candidates will be chosen solely from the panchayat.
Mamata is neither affiliated with any political party, nor is she related to any of Koraput's political figures. In the event of a tie at the formation of the ZP council, she will abstain from voting.
Mamata was chosen to protect the disputed areas of Kotia from regular incursion efforts by Andhra Pradesh, according to Panigrahi, as stated by media.
