Naba Das murder: Police recreate crime scene in Brajarajnagar

Jharsuguda: Justice J P Das, a retired Orissa High Court judge who is overseeing the ongoing Crime Branch investigation into the murder of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, paid a visit to the crime scene in Jharsuguda district on Wednesday.

According to sources, Justice Das, who arrived in Jharsuguda on Tuesday, inspected the crime scene near Gandhi Chowk with Crime Branch ADG Arun Bothra amid tight security.

In addition to inspecting the site, the ex-HC judge reviewed the progress made in the investigation into the sensational murder thus far. The ADG of the Crime Branch briefed him on various aspects of the investigation.

Justice Das has already expressed his satisfaction with the Crime Branch's ongoing investigation.

The former High Court Judge stated that the crime scene recreation done on Tuesday will be of significant assistance in the investigation, and expressed hope that it will reach its logical conclusion.

In addition to Justice Das, DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal and senior officials visited the crime scene. He arrived in Jharsuguda on Tuesday with Director of Intelligence Sanjeev Panda and ADG Law and Order RK Sharma.

The state police chief reviewed the progress of the investigation into the sensational murder case.

They will also meet with Crime Branch officers to discuss the investigation's progress.

It should be noted that dismissed police officer Gopal Das fired at the Minister on January 29 near Gandhi Chowk. The same evening, Naba Das died of a bullet wound in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
