Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker escapes unhurt in road accident

Bhubaneswar: Rajanikant Singh, the Deputy Speaker of the Odisha Assembly, narrowly avoided being killed in a car accident in Angul district on Thursday.
According to sources, the accident occurred on National Highway 55 at Panchamahala in the afternoon when Singh's SUV collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction from Sambalpur. He was on his way to Balanag after an official meeting in Angul.
Both the Deputy Speaker and the SUV driver escaped with minor injuries. The accident completely destroyed the right side of the automobile. When local police were contacted, they hurried to the scene and made arrangements for Singh to continue his journey.
Nobody has been arrested in connection with this case, and the police have initiated an inquiry.
