Cuttack: In the city of Cuttack, Odisha, a woman was reportedly detained for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old daughter and selling her for Rs 10,000 to an auto-rickshaw driver.
The police have taken the young girl, who has been missing since Thursday morning, from the accused person and have given her to her parents.
According to them, the suspect, Kuni Munda, 30, of Chinabadi in the Mayurbhanj district, was staying close to Gadagadia Ghat.
The girl was also residing close to Gadagadia Ghat with her parents. Her father, Rabindra Sahoo, who is from the Jagatsinghpur district, reported his daughter missing to the police on Thursday morning.
Police responded to the report by taking action, and following an investigation, Kuni was taken into custody. The woman said that she had taken the young girl when she was fast asleep.
She then admitted to selling the girl for Rs 10,000 to an auto-rickshaw driver. According to sources, the girl was rescued on Friday after the accused guided authorities to the auto-rickshaw driver's home.
