Vigilance nabbs peon and clerk for accepting bribe

Ganjam, June 22: Berhampur Vigilance officials on Tuesday seized around Rs5000 from Sri Kashinath Panda, Retd. Peon of Aska Sub Treasury and Sri  Susanta Kumar Mishra, Jr.Clerk, S.R. High School, Dharakote, were  caught red handed, while demanding and accepting bribe.

As per reports, the bribe was being taken from the Complainant Sri Gopal Krushna Dalabehera, Asst. Teacher of S.R. High School, Dharakote,Ganjam in order to  prepare his arrear salary bill.

During the search, the bribe money of Rs.5000/- has been recovered and seized from  Sri Kasinath Panda. 

The residence of the accused Susanta Kumar Mishra at Pitala and Kashinath Panda at Aska,Dist- Ganjam are being searched.  In this connection, the case U/s 7 P.C. Act 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
