Young girl was abducted and forced to marry a relative in Nabarangpur
Nabarangpur: A gang of youngsters from a hamlet in the district recently abused and forced an 18-year-old girl to marry.
After discovering that the recorded footage of the event was spreading in the neighbourhood, the girl's family filed a complaint with Raighar police.
According to the complaint, on November 7, a girl from Raighar police station's Chittabeda village went to Sonepur DNK village with her brother-in-law to celebrate Kali Puja. Prasanjit Haldar, her sister's brother-in-law, forcibly abducted her to an unknown location as she was with a friend in the rear of the house late at night.
She said that numerous young people in the area assaulted and touched her, and that the incident was captured on video. They later forcefully married her to Prasanjit. Even though the girl pleaded with them to stop and shouted for assistance, the adolescents were laughing and filming the whole thing on their phones, she continued.
Nonetheless, the girl returned to her home and informed her family of the situation. They didn't go up to the cops. They learned that the footage of the encounter had been made public the day after the incident and filed a complaint at Raighar police station.
The police have filed a report and are conducting a search for the suspect.
