Nuapada: A similar event was reported from Odisha's Nupada district on Wednesday, one day after a man purportedly committed suicide in Bhubaneswar over a failed love affair.
Locals discovered a young man hanging from a neem tree this morning on the Bijepur-Kusamal road beneath the Khariar block, with the words "I love you" scrawled in rose petals nearby, leading them to suspect a failed relationship.
The dead has been identified as Padma Charan Tandi, the son of Jhitridhoda villager Manohar Tandi.
His family has questioned the suicide scenario and sought a full investigation into the tragedy, despite the fact that police have retrieved the body.
According to a police official, an inquiry has been launched, and it won't be long until the cause of the death is known.
