Balasore: A horrific occurrence occurred on Tuesday in the hamlet of Balikuti in the Balasore district of Odisha, when a 16-year-old girl apparently committed suicide after her mother forbade her from using a smartphone. Gitanjali Dalai, a descendant of Ashwini Kumar Dalai, has been named as the deceased. She attended class in the tenth grade.
Gitanjali allegedly ingested poison after being forbidden from using the smartphone to play games, according to reports. According to sources, Gitanjali's mother reportedly reprimanded daughter for constantly using the phone and then took it away.
The little girl allegedly drank poison after locking herself in a room in a fit of rage.
She was taken to the Baliapal hospital, where the medical staff pronounced her dead.
After being notified, the local police went to the scene, sent the body for a post-mortem, and reported an unusual death in this case.
