Air version of BrahMos missile successfully test-fired from Chandipur

Chandipur: On Wednesday morning, the air variant of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired from a Sukhoi 30 MK-I supersonic fighter aircraft at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur.

The missile fired from the plane followed the pre-planned trajectory and completed the mission.

ITR successfully flight-tested a Short Range Surface to Air Missile on Tuesday.

It's a significant step forward for BrahMos, a joint venture between India's Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia's NPOM.

The structural integrity and functional functionality of the device were demonstrated during the test.

It paves the path for the country's own production of air-version BrahMos missiles. Indian industry has created major airframe assemblies that are important parts of the Ramjet Engine.

BrahMos' air version was last flight-tested five months ago.
