Sala Budha Ra Badla bagged the national film award for best Odia film
Bhubaneswar: The national film prize for Odia's finest film was given this year by Sala Budha Ra Badla. Sabyasachi Mohapatra and producer Kumar C Dev received the internationally renowned Odia Registrar at the 67th National Film Awards Ceremony in Delhi for Monday. Award from Vice Chairman of Venkaiah Naidu.
"I'm delighted and elated to see that national prizes have been given for 'Sala Budha' trilogy, 'Aadim Vichar' and 'Sala Budha Ra Badla.' For this accomplishment, I kneel before Maa Samaleswari. I'd want to thank the public, too, for giving my films enormous affection," Mohapatra remarked.
His son Kumar C Dev is the third film in the trilogy's publisher, producer and photo director. "I'm glad the new generation is interested in creating wonderful movies," he continued.
The protagonist, Atal Bihari Panda, who died for a couple of months, is missing Mohapatra very strongly. "While we shot the film, he was incredibly active, although he was 90," he remarked.
The ageing actor died on June 6, 2021, at the age of 92 because of old age-related illnesses.
Like the filmmaker's father, Kapileswar Prasad Mochapatra, Sala Budha Ra Badla is an adaption of a narrative.
"My dad, who died two years ago, also misses me. With this prize, he would have been extremely pleased," he remarked.
The director of ace wants to take movies seriously from the younger generation. "In movies, whether commercial or parallel, there should be insights into Odia culture and heritage," he continued.
Bhukha, Jai Jagannatha, Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia, Bou and Jhilli are all award-winning flicks.
