Bhubaneswar: Odisha's anti-corruption sleuths apprehended a Senior Laboratory Technicial of a government Community Health Centre (CHD) in Odhsha's Sonepur district on Wednesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 for medical tests.

Akshaya Kumar Pattnaik, the accused, was assigned to Tarva CHC in Sonepur district.

Though medical tests are provided free of charge in CHCs on behalf of the government, allegations that Pattnaik was routinely demanding money for such tests from poor villagers were received, according to a Vigilance release.

Following the trap, searches are being conducted at two locations in Pattnaik from the Disproportionate Assets angle.
