Well-marked low pressure intensifies into depression over BOB
Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said on Sunday that the clearly defined low pressure region over the northwest Bay of Bengal near the shores of north Odisha and West Bengal has strengthened into a depression.
Rains are still falling in the coastal areas of Odisha under the impact of the aforementioned system.
For 10 districts — Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Deogarh — the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert.
Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri are among the 11 districts for which an orange alert has been issued. Nine districts—Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Gajapati, and Ganjam—have received a yellow warning.
