Bhadrak: In a shocking turn of events, bodies buried at a village cremation ground in Odisha's Bhadrak district have gone missing, leaving locals concerned.

According to sources, incidents of dead bodies disappearing from the cremation ground at Maninathpur village, located near the Baitarani river in the district's Bhandaripokhari block.

In the last two months, three dead bodies have reportedly gone missing from the cremation ground. While one person, Srikanta Behuria, died two months ago, two others, Akshaya Behera and Dinabandhu Nath, died within the last 20 days.

The deceased's relatives performed their last rites and buried their bodies at the cremation ground.

The three bodies, however, have gone missing from the cremation ground, much to the surprise of family members and villagers.

Behera's son claimed that his father's body had vanished from the cremation ground and that family members were shocked by the incident. "We want justice," he declared.

According to a villager, wild animals were not responsible for the bodies' disappearance because the burials were covered with dug up soil after the act."It cannot have been the work of wild animals." "These incidents have terrified the villagers," he said.

The deceased's family has filed a complaint with the police, and an investigation has begun. As part of the investigation, police officers also went to the site.
