Former MP Anadi Charan Das dies at Bhubaneswar hospital

Senior Congress leader and former MP Anadi Charan Das died on Friday evening in Bhubaneswar. He was 88 years old at the time of his death. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital due to illness.

Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and former MP Anadi Charan Das died on Friday evening in Bhubaneswar. He was 88 years old at the time of his death. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital due to illness.

According to information received from family members, he had diabetes. He was admitted to a private hospital due to his critical condition. His last rites are expected to be held in his native Bijipur in the Jajpur district.

He married Netramani Das and had four sons and one daughter. However, three of his sons have died.
Anadi Charan Das was an Indian politician.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from the Jajpur constituency of Odisha in 1971, 1980 and 1984 as a member of the Indian National Congress and in 1989 and 1991 as a member of the Janata Dal but rejoined the Indian National Congress in controversial circumstances which helped save Narasimha Rao Government on 28 July 1993 no confidence vote along with a group led.
