Bhadrak: A man allegedly committed suicide after allegedly beating his wife to death over a family dispute in a village in Odisha's Bhadrak district's Khaira area.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Tilada village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Khaira police station. Babu Das and his wife Mina Das have been identified as the victims.
Late Monday night, the couple got into an argument over something insignificant. The argument turned violent when Babu, who was reportedly inebriated at the time, thrashed his wife and critically injured her.
Following that, Babu is said to have consumed poison. Both were taken to Khaira hospital in critical condition.
While the woman died from her injuries in Khaira, her husband was transferred to the district headquarters hospital in Bhadrak, where he died during treatment, according to the sources.
