Sundargarh: Over a family dispute, a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death and buried her body in the backward of his house in a village in the Bonai area of Odisha's Sundargarh district.
The incident, which allegedly occurred on Sunday night in Baidapali village under the jurisdiction of Bonai police station, was made public on Monday.
Saraswati Kisan, the deceased, and Trilochan Kisan, the accused, have been identified.
According to sources, the two had a heated argument on Sunday night, during which Trilochan lost his cool. In a fit of rage, he allegedly brutally attacked Saraswati with a lathi.
Because the woman died on the spot, the accused buried her body in his backyard. The police, on the other hand, received information about the incident from a reliable source and rushed to the scene.
The police discovered the woman's body in the backyard of the house after a thorough search.
The body was seized and sent for a postmortem, while Trilochana was detained and an investigation into the incident was launched.
