Mortal remains of Odia jawan killed in Manipur arrives in Bargarh

On Monday, the mortal remains of Assam Rifles jawan Nilanchal Patel, who was killed while patrolling in Manipur, arrived in his native village of Bargarh, Odisha.

Bhubaneswar: On Monday, the mortal remains of Assam Rifles jawan Nilanchal Patel, who was killed while patrolling in Manipur, arrived in his native village of Bargarh, Odisha.

People from all walks of life came to pay their final respects to the jawan. His final rites will be performed with full State honors in Baghapali village, which is located within the Bheden police limits. 

Notably, Patel suffered severe injuries when the vehicle in which he was traveling was involved in an accident while on duty on August 11 night. He died the next day as a result of his injuries. His mother, wife, and two daughters survive him.

Patel had been a member of the Assam Rifles' 7th battalion.
