Nandankanan Zoological Park is set to receive an underwater crocodile enclosure and a North-East Panorama.
Key Projects:
1. Underwater Crocodile Enclosure: A project worth Rs 15 crore featuring a glass pool, allowing visitors to enjoy overhead and side views of crocodiles.
2. North-East Panorama: Five large enclosures will house unique animals from the North-East, including spectacle monkeys, macaques, and the Himalayan griffon vulture.
3. Cheetah Enclosure: Rs 11 crore allocated for a new cheetah habitat, with a pair of cheetahs to be brought from Dubai Safari Park.
4. Walk-through Aquarium: A double-storied aquarium over half an acre for immersive aquatic viewing.
5. Multi-level Walk-through Aviary: A Rs 30 crore investment in a new aviary.
Upgrades: Enhancements to the medicinal plant garden, orchidarium, and signage system for a better visitor experience.
These projects aim to enhance Nandankanan's appeal, providing educational and engaging experiences for visitors.
