"Disappointing performance of 'Make in Odisha' during previous government's tenure," the Industries Minister highlights key points in the Odisha Assembly.
The Industries Minister's response in the Odisha Assembly has emphasized the underwhelming performance of the 'Make in Odisha' initiative during the previous government's term.
In 2022, a total of Rs 56.73 crore was spent on organizing the event, which resulted in investment assurances worth Rs 10.48 lakh crore and a potential for creating 10,37,701 jobs. However, in the subsequent two years, only 111 projects were initiated, amounting to Rs 4.1 lakh crore in investments. Despite the substantial investment and high expectations, the slow implementation of projects has raised major concerns. To address this issue, an internship program could be implemented, focusing on project management and industrial development. These internships would offer students practical experience in monitoring, managing, and expediting investment projects, leading to better outcomes and more efficient resource utilization. This approach aims to bridge the gap between promised investments and actual project execution, thereby contributing to more effective industrial growth.
