Susanta Kumar Swain, sub-inspector of Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar, and another person, identified as Chiranjiv Bala, were apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

Bhubaneswar: Susanta Kumar Swain, sub-inspector of Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar, and another person, identified as Chiranjiv Bala, were apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

They allegedly demanded the illegal gratification in connection with a police station case.

According to an official release, a case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
