Sambalpur: Swab samples from 21 students at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla who tested positive for COVID-19 will be transferred to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing to determine why they tested positive despite receiving double vaccine doses.

So far, 56 of the institute's MBBS students have tested positive for COVID. Yesterday, five people tested positive, 16 on Wednesday, and more than 30 on Tuesday.

After the annual celebration UTKARASH-2021 on November 13-14, the pupils developed COVID symptoms.

The students who have been affected have been placed in isolation and are being closely examined by doctors.
