Police SI caught taking bribe in Jajpur
On Thursday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Sub-Inspector of Police for allegedly accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe from a man to assist him in a case in Odisha's Jajpur district.
Jajpur: On Thursday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Sub-Inspector of Police for allegedly accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe from a man to assist him in a case in Odisha's Jajpur district.
Nirmal Kumar Senapati, SI of Police at Sukinda Police Station in the district, was identified as the accused. He was apprehended by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant to assist him in a previous case, according to a Vigilance release.
The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from accused Senapati's sole possession.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two Senapati locations from the Disproportionate Assets angle.
A case has been filed in this regard, and an investigation is underway.
