Bhubaneswar: Prof Prasan Kumar Swain, a well-known educationist, has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Odisha's Utkal University of Culture.
Prof Ganeshi Lal, the Governor and Chancellor of Universities of Odisha, appointed Prof Swain as the varsity's Vice-Chancellor for a three-year term.
Prof Swain is currently the Head of Department of Odia at the state's Berhampur University.
According to an official notification, he has been appointed for three years, beginning on the date he takes office and continuing until further orders, whichever comes first.
Prof Swain has been teaching for over 31 years and has written several books.
